Risotteria Melotti Roma

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The risotto was decent, but several things affected the overall experience.<br><br>The biggest issue was that a paper bag with bread was placed on our table without anyone explaining that it would be charged. It felt like it was complimentary, only to discover an extra €4 on the bill later. When we left the restaurant, we spoke with four other young women outside who were complaining about exactly the same experience. That suggests this is not an isolated misunderstanding.<br><br>Another downside was the lack of air conditioning. During a hot Roman summer, the dining room was extremely warm and uncomfortable, making it difficult to enjoy the meal.<br><br>I don’t mind paying for bread if I’m informed in advance, but customers should be told before they’re charged. Transparency is important. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn’t return.

The staff are lovely. Sadly, I can't recommend the food. The arancini were insipid and excessively crispy, they are served with mayonnaise sauce, which does not add anything to the dish.<br>The cacio and Pepe risotto was just not right, even with the aftertaste of pepper, but noticeable lack of pecorino. It didn't work.<br>The mushroom risotto didn't taste better than a supermarket version.<br>Finally, the complimentary paper bag of supermarket warm rice cakes and odd tasteless strips of what they called bread was a shocking surprise... My question would be... Have they tried the food they serve?

Birthday celebration and craving mushroom risotto, so we found a lovely little, non tourist spot.<br>Started with Arancini, which was oddly served with mayonnaise 🤮 very disappointing the rice was just a bit too Al dente. Crunchy!!<br>The fungi risotto and Cacio e pepe risotto… what can I say… an explosion of pepper on glue rice 🤢🤢 neither one of us could finish anything.<br>And I guess the Cherry on the top was a complimentary brown paper bag with warm stodgy bread and supermarket rice cakes.<br>What a wonderful authentic Italian experience. I would not recommend this place.
